Carlsberg is a Danish brewing corporation. The headquarters is located in the urban area of Walby Copenhagen. It was founded in 1847 by Danish businessman Jacob Christian Jacobsen, who named the company in honor of his son Carl. Deliveries of beer for export to Scotland began in 1868, the first foreign brewery was built in 1968 in Malawi.
Carlsberg produces beer under the trademarks Carlsberg, Tuborg, Kronenbourg, Baltika and others – more than 500 items in total.
The main sales regions are Western Europe (47%), Eastern Europe (24%) and Asia (29%). The group’s revenue in 2018 amounted to DKK 88.97 billion, DKK 62.503 billion, excluding excise taxes. The largest share of revenue comes from China (DKK 7.509 billion), Russia (DKK 7.507 billion) and Denmark (DKK 4.614 billion).
