Mowi ASA, formerly known as Marine Harvest ASA (until January 1, 2019) is a Norwegian seafood company operating in several countries around the world. The main interest of the company is the production, processing and sale of farmed salmon, whose activities are concentrated in Norway, Scotland, Canada, the Faroe Islands, Ireland and Chile. The group accounts for 25 to 30% of the global salmon and trout market, making it the world’s largest company in this sector. The company took its current form as a result of a massive expansion in 2006, when Pan Fish ASA carried out an effective tripartite merger with Marine Harvest N.V. and Fjord Seafood. The group is headquartered in Bergen, Norway, and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, where it is part of the OBX benchmark index.
